To sell or to give away?

Well I have made my first kit. I think that it is pretty good especially for my first try. I am trying to decide if I should try to sell the kits I make or if I should bypass the headaches of trying to figure it all out and just give them away. I could use the money I could make selling them but with 3 small kids I don't have lots of time to figure all this stuff out. Here is a preview of my kit. What do you think?

Great blog! So you know to sell I believe you need to get a form of business license. I haven't looked into it much, but that's what I understand. I think the kit is great though!

Glad to see you got a blog set up. I don't know about your state but in NJ I had to get a certificate for taxes and register with the state as a business in order to sell my kits. However NJ is one of the few states that has a tax on non tangible items, meaning all digital things you have to pay a tax on (mp3 downloads, scrap kit downloads, basically all downloads). But no matter what state you live in, you have to report your earnings on your tax returns no matter how much you make. They sort out if you owe of not depending on how much money you earned.
